Lexington, VA - In advance of next weekend's Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) event in Charlottesville, the Hollins equestrian team competed at the, two-day, House Mountain Show in Lexington, Va. The show was held at the Virginia Horse Center and saw several Hollins riders earn ribbons and honors.
With a trip to the UVa IHSA event on the horizon, Hollins riders continued to collect ribbons and awards in Lexington. Allison Sherwood finished first in Adult Hunter over fences and under saddle on her way to being named Adult Hunter Champion at the show. Teammate Heavon Allen made it a 1-2 finish in Adult Hunter under saddle. In addition, Allen was first in SWVHJA Adult Medal and is qualified for the Oak Ridge Medal Finals. In the Oak Ridge Medal category, Madeleine Lohr took the blue ribbon and is also qualified for the Finals. Randi Byrd won Special Adult Hunter over Fences and thanks to her other finishes within the discipline, was named Special Adult Reserve Champion. Mari Szurley come home second in Special Adult Hunter under saddle.
Hollins will compete at the IHSA event hosted by the University of Virginia next Saturday.
