Gettysburg, PA - For the final time this regular season, the Hollins cross country team was in action looking to have a strong finish to the first campaign in a decade. Hollins would face a tough field at the 28th annual Gettysburg Invitational. The 6K race featured 260 runners from 29 different institutions. Hollins finished 22nd in the event.
Jhovanna Salmeron continued to lead Hollins as the junior posted a time of 27:19.80, finishing first for her team and securing 98th place points. Sarah Rubin and Antonia Perez-Bravo finished 45 seconds apart and just over two minutes behind Salmeron. In just their second races of the season, Meagan Rioux (31:26.70) and Levene LeBlanc (31.29.90) finished just seconds apart to round out the top five for Hollins. Natalie Badawy and Kalyn Chapman completed the scoring and each finished ahead of 20% of the field.
Hollins will take aim at the rest of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) when they compete at the 2016 ODAC Cross Country Championships in two weeks. The event will be held in Buena Vista at the Vista Links Golf Club on Saturday, October 29th.
