ROANOKE, Va. - The Hollins soccer team wrapped up their 2019 season on Saturday with a showdown against cross-town rival Roanoke.
The Green and Gold's defense kept them in the match for the first half, with Hollins trailing just 2-0 at the break, but the Maroons exploded for six goals in the second half en route to an 8-0 win.
HU managed just two shots in the contest, one each by Madisen Charles and Stephanie Samoy. Kendra Rich, who was celebrating her final Hollins game, along with fellow senior Mitch Mitchell, ended the game with eight saves, giving her 157 on the year.
Hollins finishes the 2019 season with a 4-12 record overall and a 1-9 ODAC mark. They graduate just two seniors and should return a core group for the 2020 season.
