Volleyball Falls in ODAC Finale

SALEM, Va. - The Hollins volleyball team didn't have to travel far for their final ODAC matchup of the 2019 season, only about 10 miles, as they squared off with cross-town rival Roanoke.

Unfortunately, despite the strong season the Green and Gold has had, they weren't able to best the Maroons as Roanoke took the match 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-17).

It was Roanoke's offense that plagued Hollins, as the Maroons doubled up Hollins in kills (48-23).

Hollins was able to use their height at the net to the tune of 6 total blocks on the night with two solo and 12 assisted. Charlie Vollmers had three and Hannah Arthur chipped in two.

Offensively, HU was led by Tyler Sesker's eight kills and Kenna Esquibel's five. Zoe Brooks tallied 11 assists on the night while Hannah Piatak added 10 digs.

What's Next

Hollins will finish the 2019 season with a tri-match on Saturday at Regent University. They'll take on the Royals at 1 pm before ending the day with Elizabeth City St. at 3.
